Social media content vs website photography

Is there actually a difference between planning and the outcome of photography shoot for marketing photography library (social media photography) and website photography?

Yes, yes, yes!

One of my beautiful clients explained this to me in a lovely way: website is like the first date and the social media is like the third date :)

What does it mean in terms of brand photography?

Your website photography requires different planning process. We not only need to deliver your aesthetic, your energy, your vibe, but we also need to fill in specific image holders on your website (I wrote an article about the types of images you need for your website, and you can find it HERE). Website photography is likely to be a little more polished, like your make up, outfit and manners on the first, promising, date.

Your marketing content library (=social media content) is more magnetic when it is more candid, more imperfect, more open, when you let your audience behind the scenes of your processes, so they can imagine what it’s like to be working with you, how you do “your thing”, what your environment is like, etc. When we shoot for social media, we create more images during our time together, in comparison to website photography. Both shoots are very intentional, but the intention is different.
